SEO Next Guide
Titles, Meta, and Keywords
This is one of the most important areas. Beginners often confuse the focus keyword with a magic tag for Google, while experienced users sometimes jump into fine tuning before the basic title and description are solid.
What it is
This section covers:
- SEO title
- meta description
- title/meta templates
- focus keyword / keyphrase
The most important point
The main keyphrase is chosen by the user, not automatically by the plugin.
The plugin:
- checks
- suggests
- helps improve the page
But it should not make the strategic decision for the editor.
Where to enter it
Usually in the SEO box for the page or post:
- SEO title
- Meta description
- Focus keyword / keyphrase
Step by step
- Open the page or post.
- Find the SEO box.
- Fill in the SEO title.
- Fill in the meta description.
- Enter one main keyphrase.
- Save the page.
- Check how the recommendations and score changed.
Example
Focus keyword: seo plugin for wordpress
Meta title: SEO Next Demo SEO Page
Meta description: Learn how SEO Next helps optimize WordPress metadata and SEO settings.
If the field is empty
Nothing breaks, but keyword-specific analysis will be less precise.
Common mistakes
- entering many keywords at once
- expecting the plugin to guess the best query by itself
- confusing the focus keyword with meta keywords spam
Quick checklist
- I chose one main phrase
- Title is filled in
- Description is filled in
- The page is saved
- Recommendations are reviewed
